This is a course for skilled whitewater kayakers who don't need intensive
instruction, but prefer to run rivers in a group environment. We offer
this course early in the season, as that is when the water is high, and
everything is runable.
Group awareness and safety, water reading and river
running strategy, along with getting wet and having fun, are the
main focus of this fun-filled week-long paddling adventure. Our instructors
will introduce you to six beautiful local rivers, which will encourage
and challenge your senses and skills. We also want you to leave with some
new moves to use on the rivers back home.
We begin the week in our playboats on class III rivers where we spend time surfing while tuning up strokes and rolls before really going for mileage. Then we move into our river-running boats for some of the most awesome class IV/IV+ whitewater in the Rocky Mountains. Each night is spent camping under the stars, and cooking our meals around the campfire. Equipment can be rented from us, or you can bring your own.
