Catch those one-boat eddies, learn to ferry with finesse, paddle whitewater with grace, fluidity, and confidence! We utilize our pool and Slide Lake to learn, review and fine-tune the skills and techniques necessary to build precision and efficiency. Then we take it to the river and put it all together on class II to class IV whitewater. Here instruction is focused on more advanced skills and techniques, and practicing them on different types of water.
We'll work on skills like back ferries, attainment moves, effective self-rescue, and rescue of others. You will also have fun learning more advanced playboating moves such as side surfing, boofing, 360's, and cartwheels. Aggressive strokes, high and low braces, and rolling (both sides) are all essentials in becoming a competent class III paddler. This course is great for skilled paddlers on vacation.
