Paddling away from the crowds, we teach you how to safely and properly control your kayak so you are able to relax and take in all of the natural beauty and magnificent wildlife of Yellowstone. The west thumb of Yellowstone Lake is a well-protected area sheltered from the effects of the main body of water. We paddle into the West Thumb Geyser Basin area exploring the geothermal features on land and paddling over underwater geysers.
Paddling 2½ miles each way, we'll explore the rocky shores, catch glimpses of elk, moose, bear, and deer as they come down to the lake for a drink, and smile at the otters playing in our wake.
